Sometimes you just have to treat yourself. I usually don’t go for the super-sweet coffee drinks because coffee houses make them so sweet, it hurts my teeth. Making liquid treats at home is the best option because I can add as much or as little sweetness as I prefer.
My morning cup of coffee is usually just a 1/4 teaspoon of sugar with one tablespoon of cream; so when I saw the Caramel Macchiato creamer from International Delight, I thought, why not? It has been a really hot summer, and a nice cold cup of iced coffee in the afternoon sounds nice.
Ingredients:
- 6 oz. cold brewed coffee
- 1 T Caramel Macchiato creamer
- whipped cream
- caramel sauce
To brew the coffee, place 1 T decaffeinated coffee grounds in a french press. Fill with boiled water and place in the refrigerator until cooled. Note: I used decaffeinated coffee because it would never get to sleep in the evening if I drank regular after 12:00 pm. I used a french press because that is my preferred method of brewing, not that I am a coffee snob or worried about my carbon footprint. I have no opinion as to which method you use to brew your coffee other than to use the simplest method for you.
Pour cool brewed coffee into a cup leaving room for cream. Add 1T Caramel Macchiato creamer, top with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.
